We have that arm rest in our 07 its very nice a lot more stiff than the stock armest i have in my 05. It sits about 3 or so inches off the ebrake and it doesnt bend down when you rest your arm on it. Storage is actually pretty atiquit in it.
I have it in my 04mcs. I couldn't be happier with it, really. its very sturdy, i can put all my weight on it with my elbow and it doesnt budge. my only concern/complaint is that you have to be careful if you engage the ebrake as it will make contact with the bottom of the armrest if its laying down. and has rubbed a spot on the tip of my ebrake handle.
Great arm rest. It is the original OEM that was never officially available in US. Works much better then what Mini offers now. Used to be able to get on for about $150. You can save a couple of bucks here: linky
Spent months researching armrests...went with this.
VERY solid; base is all metal, armrest itself is plastic, but very heavy feeling. Top does not slide back like the OEM armrest, but rather a button is depressed and it is flipped up.
I love mine! Replaced my OEM armrest with it. Glad I did! Easy to install if you don't already have an OEM armrest.
I like the Redline touch. How hard was that to install? I'm about to order some Wet Okole seat covers and am thinking about ordering some extra material to do mine (and other parts).
Not hard. IIRC, there's half a dozen screws inside the lid that hold the pad on. The OEM vinyl cover is stuck on with double-sided tape. Pull it off and use double sided tape to stick the new cover on the pad. Screw it back in place.
