its cool tho i never said i was gonna leave the nylon on the headlights..i might just end up joey modding it, or if Lamin-x will make me some flat black covers as opposed to the gloss ones they make for our cars, ill get those. but i do like the tail lights...some days i like how the headlights look and somedays i dont.

what im trying to figure out is this-

have you seen Rob and Big on mtv? his flat black tahoe..he has flat black tails...wonder how/what he used...ive heard and seen on other forums that if you take black paint and mix a matte clear coat with it, itll turn out with a matte finish, but light will still shine through since its mostly clear with a little black mixed in. dont know how that would work, thats something ill have to ask my body shop.

 

Unless you've PhotoShopped the pictures (to make them look bad??), I don't think an eyeball-to-headlight encounter will change anyone's opinion. That's your mod, and welcome to it. I just think it makes the car look cheesy.

the headlights maybe a little but the tails reverse and 3rd brake i dont think look bad at all....i like the overall flat look against the gloss paint since thats what im going for (sorta like Simon's mini with the flat black stripes down the center of the car)

No, it's your attitude and you lack of concern for *other* people's safety. I don't care if you drive off a cliff because you couldn't see a road sign, but I do care that deliberately modify your car to the point you cannot adequately see out of it at night (admitted in post 1). If it were a trailer queen show car, more power to ya; the tint looks good from a style perspective. However, the moment you drive on public roads you become a hazard. I hope someday you choose to share the road with other drivers.

 

i do share the road just fine and have been for almost 6 years with no problems. so i dont see your argument.

I've seen a number of cars with tail lights painted and still transparent. The last one I can remember was an M3 in eurotuner that had maroon tail lights. They did it just like you said above. Just have to make sure not to go too far.

i spray tinted the amber side markers that are in my wheelwells.. it really cleans up the look - and it's cheaper than hoisery

Whoa! While posting the above, I had a mind-numbing revelation!
Panyhose over the headlites... why not go to the next obvious level? Step it up! I'm thinkin' (bear with me here)... Victoria's Secret -black satin bra -get a big one- one cup for each headlite. I'm not sure what to do with the tail lights yet, but my brain is working feverishly on the problem. Maybe grab a copy of the catalog to do a little research. Hmmm... I'll get back to this thread later, got work to do.
