"nylon'ed" my headlights LOL!

i know the pics are blurry but it was getting dark, ill get good pics tomorow.

overall i like it, and ill see how it holds up. it did decrease light output alot, becuase i have my windshield tinted...if i stick my head out the window, i can see good. im ordering a Palo Uber bar with 4 hella 500s in the next few days, so that will brighten things back up.

Why?

To each his/her own, but it looks "cheap".

Just my opinion...

pimpedout97x Aug 28, 2008 07:03 PM

chpsk8 Aug 28, 2008 07:15 PM

Get some 5% window tint or something to that effect. I bet it'll work MUCH better!

nor does adding 500+ lbs in stereo equipment but i still did it.

Hmmm...I wonder what the minimum temp requirement is for nylon to begin burning/melting--since it's a synthetic fabric.

pimpedout97x Aug 28, 2008 08:11 PM

so far it didnt seem to get too hot at all while driving with the lights on

Xner Aug 28, 2008 08:18 PM

pimpedout97x Aug 28, 2008 08:33 PM

I agree. Sure you get the look you want, but the look of the car is lost at the same time. Looks kind of like a crappy import mod.

Why don't you just "joey mod" them in flat black? You'll get the same general look, but with no light loss and you still get to be legal.

pimpedout97x Aug 29, 2008 04:56 AM

i think im going to end up doing that. i am getting the PU light bar with 4 bright Hella lights, so im sure that will really light up the road. im going to leave this for a few days and see how it works out though. i think i will end up Joey Modding them either way becuase in sun you can see the chrome a little through the fabric, and if i end up removing the fabric, ill have no choice but to Joey mod them. my drivers headlight housing needs replacing though as the inside housing is cracked from when i had to hit a curb due to a pepsi truck cutting me off...

MUShadd Aug 29, 2008 11:40 AM

buy a tripod already lol

pimpedout97x Aug 29, 2008 11:44 AM

LOL ill have better pics when i get home in about 2 hours, it got dark and flash on my camera makes pics look horrible when its dark out + flash, so i do it without flash. ill take good pics today in the sun.

my damn headlight rings chipped i need to repaint them, i didnt let them cure as long as i should have becuase i had to be at work the next morning and it was late so i couldnt leave the rings off...they arent that bad so ill repaint them maybe this weekend.

Tüls Aug 29, 2008 11:45 AM

don't forget to nylon yer rally lights

pimpedout97x Aug 29, 2008 12:02 PM

im talking with Lamin-X at the moment about making me flat black covers for the heads/tails/reverse/3rd brake light/rally lights...gonna see if its possible...said im the first person thats requested flat black covers LOL.

i dont know why, i like the look of the flat black lights against the glossy paint.

im gonna lamin-x the rallys for sure, even if its gloss, but id like to keep the heads flat. if the nylon doesnt hold up, ill get gloss for those, or maybe just joey mod. the tails i dont see why they wont hold up.

Should look pretty funny after you go down the first dusty road, and they might block up enough to get you a ticket if they get dirty.

pimpedout97x Aug 29, 2008 04:20 PM
