For all those that wanted to know how to do this, I added a euro style plate to the front of my Mini and did a writeup for my website:

The install was easy. Took 10 minutes. Not sure if the install is the same for an S.

Thanks for the excellent write-up. Your plate looks great!
I am in the market for a plate as well. On my last Mini, I just
used two-sided tape and stuck my European plate on the car.
For my new Mini, I think I will get a bracket like you did. I
liked yours with the logo on it. Do you know if the plate is
available with white letters on a black background? Also, if
I might ask, how much did you pay for each piece including
shipping?

 

I'm thinking the plate was $28 and the holder was ~$20.

Not sure on the colors. I had mine done with the white part reflective. Kinda cool.

For those with Cooper S models there is no opening for euro plates built into the bumper like on the cooper.

Europlates- The MC and MINI ONE come with the europlate opening on the bumpers. The MCS has a special black plastic long europlate holder curved to fit the bumper-From MINI with rough cost £25 or $41 retail.

Simply remove your stock license plate frame and holder and replace with the above holder and then attach your euro plate. Some europlates may come with holders.
