DIY mesh grill inserts

Has anybody seen a DIY for the mesh inserts for a R53? I did a search and could not find anything. I am looking for something like the M7 inserts without the price tag.

Not much instruction-wise but this is linked off M7's website.

I'm gonna sit back and watch this, too. I like the look and it saves from Dremeling the OE non-aero bumber cover to fit the Aero grille.

Well, I think your outtaluck trying to match the uppers to the lowest OEM grille. That said, I know that Peter/M7 has an arrangement with GrillCraft such that they won't sell you the grilles directly (I found this arrangement also with the foam filters for the Alta CAI btw). That said, I'm sure you could get some mesh stock and make all 3 grilles yourself. The GrillCraft ones are nice as they are heavily powdercoated and seem indestructible.

The OEM AREO Grill (upper and mid) is VERY close to the look of the OEM lower.

Those are easily avaliable and with a bit of modding look really nice.

A home made upper and mid are dificult to have looking "finished"
If you remove the upper you will see the supports and areas now hidden by your grill and the OEM AERO grill.

I did make a upper and mid mesh grill ...using the same very open mesh with the same material as my lower (musc more open mesh than the M7) but it just looked to "open"

I did find this photo of the home made upper, mid and lower.
It was a very open mesh and I did finish the edge with door trim.
You can see it was very open.

on the picture. I was wondering what kind of lights do you have in your lower grill? I want to get those, but don't know what they are.
