Seats for wide guys?

I posted this in Coupe talk, but thought it should go here too.

Hello All,
My wife and I are considering a MCS for our next car.
We went to the local dealer and sat in several 2007 and 2008 cars this past weekend. She fits fine, but the sides of the seats push into the outside of my thighs.
Which Mini seats would be the best for me?
Are there any OEM's that make wider seats that install easily into a MCS?
Thanks in advance for your comments!

I may be wrong but.... i believe unless specified, the oem MCS seats are the sport seats that have side bolsters... i am assuming that is what you are refering to?

i think even the leather lounge seats (cost a bit more) are going to have large side bolsters on any MCS. You might want to try sitting on a non S cooper (standard seats) and compare the two. i dont know if its compatible but you can have standard seats in an MCS, im sure you coulds trade your sports seats in the NAM market or order one.

My 07 MCS has the lounge leather sport seats with lumbar support. The side bolsters are a bit narrow for my wide butt (50" waist), but are shaped and padded well. I have driven 5-10 hour trips without distress. In fact, these are the only seats, at home or on the road, that my back and legs have been comfortable in.

Did you ever try the punch leather seats?

I'd like to know if there is a difference in how narrow the side bolsters feel (on the seat bottom, not the seat back) between the punch leather and the lounge leather.

I'm a "wide guy" myself (46-48" waist; 300 lbs+)
I just drove our clubman s to Quebec and back (6hrs each way) and once I was in the car it was comfortable; getting in / out is a little bit of a contortion
This car car came with the "S" cloth seats w/o lumbar adjust
