I have had mine over a year. Not a single problem. No pain fade peel mark or otherwise. I take them off wash the car and stick them back on very easy and convienient I got them at Mini Mania. I live in NJ had no problems winter, spring or summer..

As for the bubbles in the film, give it a day or so in the sun before you start popping them. When Mike at AC installed my graphics, there were quite a few bubbles, but I think he only popped one of them that was particularly heinous. The rest of them went away completely on their own over the course of the next week.

Bring that MINI to me and let me take a close look. I'd bet you $100 I can find some damage to your paint under those magnets. Might need to take a bright light and magnifying glass to see it, but it's there. And just because you can't see it in normal light with the naked eye doesn't mean it's okay.

And let's say I'm wrong. I hope you are keeping a really thick and even coat of wax/polish under those stripes. I've seen people remove those military/cancer awareness, or some other magnets from their cars after a couple of years and the paint was literally GONE.

IMO, stay away from the magnets. Not worth the risk.

I dont need to bet (which is would be a teal) or even waste this much time on the topic.. These are not the .99 cent magnets you get at the seven-eleven. I have had them over a year and a half. Not a spec of damage even with a microscope. They clean easy and are a great value anf fun... some times you feel like having stripes and some t imes you may not..

I mean really, glued ones will break and chip from stones and are a pain to replace.. and Im sure that they block out UV rays and leave a mark if you can remove them easily, which you cant.

An excellent value check them out on mini mania's site

Are you going to MINI's on the Dragon ? I'd love to check out your bonnet.

And just FYI... I took of vinyl stripes that had been installed for two years and not a bit of paint fade. Coudn't even tell stripes had ever been there. Of course, it depends on how the owner takes care of their MINI's paint.

We'll just agree to disagree. Glad you're happy with your magnets. And thanks, but I don't need to check out the value. I wouldn't have them if they were free.

Ummm... I am sitting at my desk here laughing as I read these posts. Not everyone treats their cars like a living entity or a member of the family. I love my MC and I will sure as heck love my MCS too once it gets here but... let's face it. They are cars. They are things. Things aren't mean't to stay perfect forever. Vinyl stripes will cause fading to your car over time... magnetic stripes can get tiny particles of dirt/sand/stone trapped under them and scratch the paint. But... it's all about choice.

I've often thought of getting the magnetic stone guards for my MC!

Come see my MC! I am sure you will find stone chips and scratches but gosh darnit.. she is a beautiful car and I make sweet sweet love to her every time I get behind the wheel!

I get what is being said though... magnetic things have the "potential" to wreck the paint. Still. There are times when I wish my car had no stripes. My dealer installed mine and at the top of the one stripe I swear he tore it with his teeth-- soooo jagged and stretched! Looks awful... oh well!

I totally screwed up my boot stripes doing the DIY. Demolition, I'm good at...Constructive/repair stuff - not so good. Bad, actually. Very bad. Just don't stare at my boot - you'd see the "wonky" lines. My last remark: Just don't let friends drink & boot stripe.

Bahahahaha. I love it. I don't LOOOOOOOVE it. It fits my needs for a sporty eye catching car that makes me feel younger. I'm 30 btw.

My Gecko Green VW Beetle TDI used to fit that need until I decided that driving a MINI would get me more street cred. hahahaha

Street Cred ? We don't need no stinkin' street cred !

FYI... I'm old enough to be your Dad... barely. The MINI is great for youngsters and those who are knock, knock, knocking on Heaven's door.
