List of Euro-spec parts

Hello all, I'm (as far as I know so far) getting a MCS for graduation this coming school year, and I was wondering if we could get a full list of Euro-spec parts going, as I'd love to get my MINI to be as close to a European one as possible.

I know of the mirrors and parcel shelf (both of which I'm planning on getting).

Also, recommended mods?

Unfortunately there aren't that many other euro things like with some vehicles like the VW scene...

Their wheel arches are smooth rather than having spots for the side reflectors....that's a nice mod.

They have the Diesel version of the car which has its own front bumper and special hood shape. That's an option, but shipping would be rediculous.

The clubman rear taillights have the reverse lamp on the other side....that's an option for clubman owners.

The have a first aid kit and warning triangle that fits in the trunk.

That's about all I can come up with for differences.

That's the one I couldn't think of...the wheel arches.

As for the warning triangle and first aid kit, I'll probably get those as well (just so Floyd (yes, I've already named him) feels complete).

The diesel would be interesting, just because there probably aren't too many here, but with shipping costs as you said, and the price of diesel right now, I'll prolly stick to the S.

does it have storage space in it? I'm thinking of modding that so I can stick my iPod in there...like this- https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=135178

or would I NEED the Bluetooth/phone adapter for that?

also, on the subject of iPod integration, is there a kit (OEM or aftermarket) that: a- doesn't have a 255 artist/song limit, b- will display the song info on the radio, and c- allows one to use the steering wheel to navigate through the iPod?

Nice. So, why don't they have the diesels over here? Just not the market for them or is it something else?

I think it has something to do with passing our emissions tests...

Could be...I thought Europe would be more strict though.

True. So, with the euro-spec, there's not really a way to make it look clean...thanks for the help though.

I think I'm gonna stick with the USDM one....there's a thread in the Nav/Audio subforum asking something very similar, so I'm gonna keep an eye on that one.

Is there a way to order European OEM parts for here in the states? I'm interested in what it would cost to order all the bits for the third seatbelt position in the Clubman.

Sorry for a bit of a hi-jack

You could try asking your dealer if they can order the parts...you'll probably need the part numbers though, but they might be able to look them up. Other than that, some websites carry European OEM parts...also, here's a thread that might help you. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co....php?p=2174037

Oh, and NO HI-JACKING! Nah, it's alright man. Hope you can find the parts!

The changes are pretty minor, at least on the R53. More here.

Oh, and you should make time to earn a Nordschleife / Nürburgring sticker. A couple of laps should do it.

How exactly does one go about this and what exactly is it? It sounds intriguing.

Easy. Hop a flight to Frankfurt, head NW. You'll want to stop on over at the Europe section of NAM, and check in with the locals -- see if any one is up for a track day (that's like asking if they're up for free beer). Might be a way to get out on the track in one of their Minis.

Most expensive sticker you'll ever buy, but yeah, it's an awesome experience.

I WANT.

Expensive as in flight+lodging+track fee (I'm guessing)+beer for the guy who (possibly) lets me take his Cooper around?

If so, I'm good with that.

well, yeah. The sticker probably costs $10 or something, but having the stories to go with it is priceless.....

I didn't know they did away with the parcel shelf for the 2nd gen...

But yes, I'm meaning euro-spec parts for the R56.
