CAUTION: Bad Experience With Mightystripes.com

I place an order with them back on June 14th for boot stripes. Their website states that customer should receive their orders within 1-2 weeks. On June 27th, I emailed them because I had not yet received a shipping confirmation, nor had I received my stripes. They responded on the 28th and said that my stripes had shipped via Priority Mail (2-3 days) on the 19th, however, they did not provide a tracking/shipping confirmation number. They stated that if I wanted the number, that I needed to provide them with my full name. I was puzzled by that response because my full name was included in my first email inquiry. I responded that same day, again providing my full name. I have yet to here anything back from them.

They do not offer any phone contact information on their website, and now I'm starting to understand why. Who knows if I'll get a response, or my stripes?

I'm not sure that I'm posting this in the right place, but I recommend that anyone who is shopping for stripes steer clear of these guys.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

I've ordered stripes from them twice (in ~2005 and just a few weeks ago). The stripes were sent by US Mail and arrived in good time.

I am sadly disappointed that this is how a vendor on this forum is doing business. At no time during our exchange did I say anything that would prompt this guy to use profanity. It's hard to decipher what he's trying to say from his "grammatic nightmare" of an email. I guess he's claiming that he sent me the first set of stripes, despite not being able to provide me with any proof. Secondly, he stating that he is currently moving his operations. I simpothize to some extent, but that is not my fault. I'm simply a paying customer, who is expecting to receive my purchase within the time frame promised on their website, or at least a tracking number/proof of shipping. If and when I receive the (2) sets of stripes, I plan on "taking the high road" and sending the extra set back to him at my own expense.

As I mentioned above in my first post, steer clear of this guy. He's got alot to learn about doing business.

Since you opened this up to the world, in all fairness to Mighty Stripes, I would be interested in hearing their side of the situation. I do think the language they used in their response was unprofessional at best and if you are true to your word and return the extra set of stripes on your dime then I applaud you.

Mighty Stripes? Rebuttal?

I had a somewhat frustrating experience with one of the vendors on NAM [which I will not name]. My guess is that a portion of these vendors are people who are young and inexperienced in business and/or run these ventures as a side business from their homes.

Yes, the language used is definitely inappropriate in my opinion. Could be young trainee; I'd be appalled if that was one of the owners.

They may have a good product and customer service, etc. up to standards. However, even if an employee is having a bad day or young and immature, that is no way to communicate with a customer, even if the customer has been abusive.

Bad form. I would like to see a respomse from the vendor as I was seriously considering some of their items when my MINI arrives.

I too would like to hear a "legitimate" response from mightystripes.com, however, I'm still waiting for one. I still have not been provided with any tracking info for the first set of stripes that were supposedly sent out two weeks ago, nor did I receive tracking info for the second set that supposedly shipped today.

Aside from sending (2) emails kindly requesting that information and then filing a Pay Pal dispute, I did nothing to prompt that type of response. I kept it short and simple, and I was not rude in any way, shape, or form.

At this point, it's still a waiting game to see if one or both sets of stripes actually end up reaching me.

Thanks for sharing your experience ... I won't be giving them my business now! And, I don't care what their response is ... no excuse for the profane e-mail.
