Spare hood to modify

Just got in an accident recently and I am getting a new hood. I asked the company doing my repairs if I could keep the old hood. It still closes fine just a bent in the lower right area.

Now Ive seen some of the mad modders who have vented their hoods and I am jealous. So now that im going to have a spare to mess with, what do you guys think would be the most functional way to vent our hood. I dont really care if it is ugly. I would like it to vent out hot air to slow down heat soak mainly when I am at the drag strip.

If anyone could come up with some good designs that would be awesome! Some photoshops would be even better

Vents on the MINI are for looks. And there are some great looking molded in nicely ones to.
Somewhere on NAM there was a heated (pun) thread about vents .
If you are draging then do like everyone else has done for years, pop your hood open between rounds.

Isn't heat soak and underhood temps a problem with our cars and their small engine bays? Well obviously looks is a definite plus, and my major motivation in cutting into the hood, are there no performance gains from some well thought out ventilation?
