I really don't understand the appeal of this one...I mean, it's stock with red lettering?

It makes no sense to me, either. The stock **** was the one thing I disliked about my MINI, so I swapped it out. The red lettering really makes no difference; it was the size and shape (the feel) I disliked.

Yeah I think if someone liked it that much, they could get away with putting a red film over it instead of buying one

If you want the JCW shift ****... I could've sworn that I saw a fellow NAM member selling their shift **** from their JCW. I think that it is in the marketplace..

But the **** looks great. Its a smaller sized cue ball etched on the top. I wanted a classic Hurst type muscle car look and I think this does the job. Just need to fill in the etching a bit darker.

Thanks Doug, another satisfied customer!
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

How comfy are they temperature wise when it is really hot or really cold?

My 07 MCS sports a shift **** and ebrake handle in cocobolo from Robin Casady. The rich, deep color adds a note of understated elegance to the cockpit. But what attracts me the most to these pieces is the incredible fine-grained texture, transforming simply shifting gears into a sensual experience. Makes you want to feel up your car constantly! Outstanding mod.

Here's the one I got for my wife. and yes, she named her car ROXY
I like how low the shift **** sits. It's like adding a short shifter.

I got my new Whalen Shift Machine this week!
Check out photos in my gallery.
I also filled the engraving with blue epoxy to increase the contrast.
Doug is fantastic!

Pictures do not do justice. You have to see one & FEEL one on a shift. I got mine a week ago & experience of shifting has changed completely. Quicker, more crisp, & definitive. My **** also elevates my interior to a whole new level. You have to see it then hold one on your hands before the install.

a friend of mine has a momo **** that looks exactly like it, except it doesn't have all of the fancy engravings on it. It's freezing cold in the winter time and hot in the summer.

My jcw **** made shifting 100 times better too. I like having finger grips for pulling back into 2,4,6, because I don't like having my palm on the top of the shifter all of the time. I drop it down like I'm holding the handle of a gun when I pull back into gear. The top is perfectly round such that it fits perfetly into the palm of my hand for easy pushing into the R135 gears.... I think the cf and the jcw logo would elevate an interior higher then a giant silver ****....

but, to each his own.

I sold mine. I really did not like the feel of it, and it doesn't look all that special either. I got the JCW CF/Alcantara shift **** instead, and I like it a lot: looks and feels great.

i got the leather though, I've heard that the alacantra won't last much longer then 2 years.

I also have the Alcantara shift boot, ebrake boot (and CF handle), and JCW steering wheel (with CD insert). At least on the steering wheel, the 3&9 hand positions are wrapped in regular leather, with the rest of it in Alcantara. It looks very cool and I get a lot of compliments on it. I may still do the CF dash.

^nice..

i thought about doing the cf interior, and still may, but i need to pick it up aftermarket or used or something, it's way too expensive from mini.
