Hey Guys,

Ordered some Astro Black spray paint from Minspeed. I was wondering what the best way is to apply this to the taillight rings Sand it down then spray at will? What type of sandpaper do I need? Any other prep I'll need? Should I take it to a body shop so that they can do a proper clear-coat, or can I do the clear-coat part myself? The objective is to make the rings look exactly the same color as the rest of the car.

you can probably do it yourself. Just sand it down and paint it, then clear coat over it.

 

I just did mine recently. Sanded it with 600 grit. I did at least 2 light coats and then one heavier, a second heavier if needed. Followed it up with another 3-4 coats of Krylon Clear.

i did mine. piece of cake. although I really prefer krylon fusion for plastics
