I have not had the front off to look at the back side but you are grabbing a good 1/2 to 5/8's worth of healthy thread and the plate is reinforced. I would say you would probably mangle the front before you pulled the threads out. Plus who knows what series of aluminum they used?

im not paying $70+ for a license plate holder. anybody have any updates on the size, or info on trial/error creating their own?

ill probably head to the hardware store with the hook and see if theres any nuts that fit on it.

if not, my next step is going to be drilling a hole through the license plate and jamming the tow hook through it.

might as well just take the chance of getting a ticket for failure to display front plate if the cheapest i can get one without resorting to ebay, or drilling holes in my bumper, is $70.
