Redoing Tint - Any Risk?

I am planning to take my Mini in to redo the tint because its too light. I've heard that removing existing tint can damage the defrosting lines.

Anybody have any opinion on this? Or, am I relatively safe....

Thanks!

why not put a lighter shade on top of existing tint? if you are going to pull the old stuff off, have alot of windex handy, the amonia-d in windex helps "ease" off tint

Carlos (solar Solutions) stripped and re-tinted mine. It was fine.

I'm in the other boat. Turns out my tint is way too dark to pass inspection for registration in MD so I have to strip it. Most recommendations I've seen on the web involve ammonia and razor blades, but I like that steam idea. I found one "to do" using steam at Instructables (here).

I just had mine redone at Solar Solutions and he did use steam. Everything went fine! I just hope I won't have to make it lighter again LOL.
