OEM Driving Lights Wiring...

Hi All,

I did a few searches and sifted through a few pages, but couldn't find what I am looking for.

I did 95% of the install for the driving lights, the only thing I cannot figure out (without guessing) is where to hook up the power to the fuse box. It is a little beyond me.

The situation specifically (referring to the manual):

Route branches A4-A5 to the fuse holder in engine compartment (1).
Unscrew the engine compartment fuse holder (1) and fold it back.
Screw branch A4 (eyelet M6) to service point terminal 31 X165.
Screw the engine compartment fuse holder (1) back into place.
Screw branchA5 (M8 eyelet) to service point terminal 30 X2 of the engine compartment fuse holder (1).

Instructions: Driving Lights Instructions

Again, it is a little beyond me. If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it so I can get them running this weekend. Worst-case scenario, I will have to being it by the dealership this coming week.

And not trying to push my luck... pictures are a major plus...

Hope I can get it going before Monday with your help!

Thanks, Patrick

If you are installing OEM Driving Lights, try these instructions:

If not oem ... a relay / switch / power is a good option

Thanks for the quick reply Kulmini, but those instructions are for the first generation and are not any more enlightening to where these two wires go.

CorBlmy, I'm not 100% sure what your referring to, but if your talking about buying parts, I've already got everything, there are just two wires (seem to be the power lines) that I'm not sure where to hook them up to. See top post.

Anyone else have anything to input? Anyone that has done it themselves as well that might be able to snap a quick picture? It's the driving lights for the second generation, and its the two wires that connect to/near the fuse box in the engine compartment. The instructions are not detailed enough and I don't have the guts and backup cash support for the "guess and check" method.

Thanks again everyone!

You have to unbolt the fuse box and flip it upside down, one of the wires connects to a (31) terminal on the bottom. The other connects to the big (30) terminal on top. In case you're not fluent in European car: (31)= switched power supply, (30)=Battery power supply.

Sorry, don't have a picture.

Here's where I hooked up the ground (A4) (brown wires). Not sure if that is correct after reading oldopelguy comments but my lights work like they are supposed to.

Here is the main fuse box connection (A5). It's hard to see but this is the Blue/Red wire.

Here's how it turned out.

WOOO!

Done and Done!

Thanks for the pictures, it really helped!

I hooked up the two lines like the pictures and... nothing. So I immediately went to the computer piece in the footwell (with the 50'000 wires, and the two you have to splice into) because that is where I predicted I may have screwed up. I took a good look at the two-way connectors only to realize that I had not fully pushed them together to make proper contact with the wires. So, I squeezed them together and... IT WORKED!

So once again, thanks for everyones input, I wouldn't have been able to do it without the help.
