Factory Wood Shift ****?

Did anyone get the factory shift wooden shift ****? They are cheaper than aftermarket, but I haven't located any pictures of them. MiniUSA doesn't seem to have them shown on their site.

I have the wooden factory shift ****, which came in conjunction with my wood steering wheel. I think it looks pretty cool and goes well w/ the steering wheel and English Oak dash. Too bad they didn't make a matching e-brake handle as well.

I think someone posted pics here on NAM, but I'll try and get some pics up if you can't find any.

Guess you might be the only one. If you get a chance, post a pic of it.

the lower half is wood and the top is identical on all MINI's. i have it in my 04 with the anthracite dash and lether wheel. everyone think it makes the car look classier on the inside. i'd recommend it.

Pelican Parts has it for $181.50, two versions, one with the chrome ring, one without.

That's not much different than my standard $185 price, and I have several ***** for $150. Mine are all wood, stainless steel, and brass. No plastic. I also have eBrake handles.

for approximately the same price you can't even compare the quality of the wood and the **** itself between the factory one and Robin's or a Whalen -

I have the factory wood one (I took the plastic top off it trying to replace it with something nicer maybe in the future), a Whalen and an eBrake wood handle from Robin.

The build quality of the Whalen and the easy snap-on-snap-off system (that Robin is sourcing from Whalen as well) is miles ahead of the factory plastic design. The quality of the wood (I have the Ambyona Burl) of the eBrake handle compared to the factory English Oak is like comparing a MINI with a Chevy Cobalt

I wasn't comparing them to Robin's fine work or the Whalen stuff. I was just surprised to find out they had a wood version. I think it would look ok with the oak dash but agree a full wood one like Robin's is much nicer.

if you really insist on having the factory one - I'll easily let mine go for 1/2 the price that Pelican offer :-)

Here are the pictures that you requested anyway.

in my continuing search for speed over the winter i made two critical modifications to the JCW Cooper.

1. removed the cup holder, and
2. added the factory wooden shift ****

the combination of the two has transformed the car - raising the performance bar to new and astronomical levels...

i'll post the before and after dyno information soon...

(and by the way the OEM **** makes a great paperweight)

If you really want to increase performance:

Get a custom racing stripe
Do a Joey mod
Black out all chrome
Install a flash circuit for the third brake light
Tint the windows
Get leather armrests, shift boot, and eBrake boot
etc.

Sorry, totally forgot about this thread, and i guess others have already posted pics....if I was to buy a shift ****, I'd prolly get one of Robin's, but mine came w/ the wood steering wheel, and it's good enough for me right now.
