Window Tint

I am debating about tinting my windows and was wondering if someone has already done it on a Pepper white mini with matching roof. I'm thinking about 35% or 20% so if you can post some pictures with those that would be awesome!

this isnt PW, but it is 20% tint.

i have since shedded the 20 in favor of 5%.

If you have a sunroof be aware that whatever tint u choose will look lighter than what you may expect due to MINI's incompetent design of the massive sunroofs with no solid pull-shade.

Just curious if your going to be near Hurricane...

Just wondering if your going to be down Hurricane way anytime
during the next week? I'm going stir crazy waiting for my MINI...
and would like to have a chance to see another one in the mean time <g>.

(Will be off work most likely til April 7th waiting for the knee to heal.)

Noticed this tint post and am curious how dark the 5 looks as well , in
real life.

Check your state laws on limits of tinting.

In my area the darkest tint legal is 35% unless you drive an SUV, truck or Limo then you can go darker.

Some states are more strict, you can get stopped and get a ticket.

Dark tint cuts down on visible light so at night your visibility will be much less.

You can google tint laws, and there will be a list on all the states. I have 30%. It changes the look of the car dramatically. I dont know if I would go any darker than 20%. It can be a bit hard to see out of my 30% side windows on dark back roads

remember..if the legal limit is 35%..35% tint is in fact NOT legal at all..it is ILLEGAL no matter wat a tint shop says..
you have the remember the factory stock tint on all/ANY windows. that plus the 35% makes the ACTUAL light reading to about 28% to 31% depending on the window.
just thought i'd put it out there..cause most people (almost all) think that 35% is legal.
(i tint windows for a living. )
pa is pretty strict on tinting..70% to be exact. so almost ANYTHING you put it'll be illegal..

anyways..here's a picture of my car. pw/pw but mine is 15% and not a film that is WIDELY known. only cause my dad distributes for a film from korea and he's trying to get it out there.

sorry i dont have a better pic like most of the people on here.

Minjae, very nice MINI! A little too dark for my liking but I guess 35% would fine then.

I always go 30-35 % metallic tint and have been happy with it (and tints do vary depending on their type, the hue, quality etc). Photos are tough because the lighting conditions, angles, color correction, interior color, etc make it difficult to capture the saturation accurately, and it does simply vary tremendously according to lighting.

See, I'm pretty sure this has 35% tint, looks really dark here:

But look through the windows - not so dark:

Maybe going to a tinter and checking out the films, preferable on a car or two as well, might help.

Cheers

I'm in the same boat now too since the mine I bought didn't come with any...in Texas I think we can go as dark in the back but not the front. THis is my second black car only too..I'm a silver fan but the mini swayed me

Well I go to So. Charleston for class at the graduate college every Wednesday evening. My class goes from 630 til 9ish. So I pass right thru Hurricane. Im sure you know, but the law is 35%. Inspection stickers are harder to get, you just have to know someone, or pay a little extra I've never had an issue from any police. I had one stop me for speeding and asked if I hide dead bodies in my car due to the dark tint. We laughed and he let me go about my day.
