It is a nice coupler... better than the one on my air compressor hose which takes 2 hands to connect. They seem to choose high-quality parts. I was/am worried about some CO2 leaking around the quick connect fitting (with the bumps/jiggling of a car), but it seems OK so far. When I want to fiddle a bit more, I'll probably remove it.

I didn't modify the box, other than cutting a slot during the original install of the box and horns for the quick connect to stick out of. I run my test by getting on the highway, waiting for a time where there aren't any cars around me and firing off a quick 'honnnnnk'! :D It's not very scientific, but it gets the job done.

Have you looked into adding something like this? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CTN-PC750

I like it... The regulator should be able to do the job.

agranger, I'd like to think that no news is good news. Yes? I think you are over 2 weeks now... If so, that is very reassuring.

Right now, no news is just no news... I've been on vacation for a bit and forgot to test the horn this morning (was dealing with a leaking power steering high-pressure line). I'll try to remember to give it a pull later and report in.

Well over 3 weeks now and it's still working. I gave a nice little 'thank-you' honk to each of the corner workers at my track weekend on my last lap of the track. :D

I didn't want to pester you and ask again, so thanks for the update.

I'm thinking of using the existing horn button/s, at least I hope that is feasible. I'd have to run wires the length of the car though... Maybe not.

It's almost 6 weeks now and the horn is STILL working, even with the quick-release fitting in place and a weekend at track and some fairly cold temps over the past month! I think we can call it fixed!

I pulled the handle today on my way in to work and was very honestly surprised when it went off. The Powertank regulator is definately the way to go!

I don't know about using the existing horn buttons from the wheel itself, but you should be able to tie into the horn electrics, up at the front bumper, right where they tie into the OEM horn.

I also had some fun with a remote control relay that I picked up off of eBay, but it broke after a few months. That, in conjunction with an electric solenoid valve made for a remote honk from over 100 feet away.

Was just thinking about you and your horn while under my MINI a few days ago... The longest horn in the set-up I want is 19.5". I see that length / space there, but i'll need other dimensions to be certain, and this will be more near the exhaust than I'd like, so it seems, due to the control arms. I'll do my best to figure it out...

Really glad that regulator did the trick! Great news. Thanks much.

OK... I'll stop posting now, but it has been 3 months and the horn is still working on the same tank of CO2.

I think we can call it fixed!

Now I want louder horns! I've heard comparison videos of the more expensive horn brands vs. the generics like I purchased off of eBay and there was no comparison... you really do get what you pay for. Now that I've got the rest of the system figured out, it might be time to invest in some quality horns.

Have any of you gotten ticketed for this? I'm in Louisiana and wondering about the legality. Google is failing me tonight.
