I did a little searching for these a while back. Unfortunately, I think it's either the dealer or a place like pelicanparts.com or penskeparts.com, both of which will have the same prices as the dealer, but will save you the drive.

If you're looking to save a little $$ on the job, pass on all the factory tape and foam stripping. I used 3M exterior auto trim tape from Wal-Mart and some foam weatherstripping from Home Depot instead (I was only re-securing the old pillars). It'll save you maybe $10-15 per side. The 3M tape is good stuff too - very strong bond.

About the same price there as the dealer/penske/pelican.

If you register as coming from NAM with the new Sewell parts, you're get a little of a discount there:
http://mini.sewellparts.com/

You have to use the "Quick Shop" at the bottom to find most part though, so you'll need a part number handy.

We will have catalogs up very soon in the coming months and will be announced as soon as they are up. We wanted our customers to at least be able to order with a part number using the Quick Shop feature. Thank you for the mention!

For the left you'll need a 51137128157 and 51337119717.
For the right you'll need a 51137128158 and 51337119718.

Funny story, I read this thread yesterday and guess what happened to my mini.......

Left side A-Pillar totally came off...was wondering what that cracking noise was . Sad thing is I wasn't even upset, who would have figured that would happen after I just read this thread

Oh well, time for a new one

Sorry, I've got to resurrect this thread. I am no longer in need of the pillar trim itself, but those stupid curved pieces where the pillar meets the roof. I have lost BOTH sides recently, and can't find the replacement piece anywhere!!!!

*EDIT*: Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like those clips aren't separate pieces. It looks like I need the replace the entire roof rain gutter.... like this one?

Thoughts?

ask a salvage yard, yes the part number for those are part of that longer piece that runs down the sides (i know because one of mine is completely ruined but still hanging on).

a good yard should be willing to give you those pieces since they typically don't pull the gutters off before scrapping the shells.

You are correct, you'll just have to purchase and replace the entire shebang.

Hard to believe, but it really is only available as the whole piece. Here is the listing on realoem (it's part #10):

I think a trip to a junkyard is a great idea - or give waymotorworks a call - he has quite a few wrecked MINIs, and I'm sure he'd sell and ship just that little piece to you for cheap.

When I set up my own, i didn't use any double-sided record, and they still haven't made the decision to fly off, however, if you want to experience more relaxed, you can always use double-sided record again.

Not sure these inserts are correct (Black Hard Foam of some kind). The old piller had the tabs broke off where the screws insert. I am thinking that someone added these to keep the trim piece secure with out the screws holding the piece. Thoughts? I was going to yank these out (only three, the last one on the bottom looks like the pictures above from Okrad LA.

I've noticed that MINI changed the clips over the course of production and some include those foam/rubber inserts and some do not. For instance, the clips on the door panels use the same style clip, but on my '03, it did not include those rubber washers, while an '06 I pulled parts from in a salvage yard did. I am guessing the parts you've noticed have been on since the factory.

It's also possible those are there to block airflow through the column. In fact, I'm now wondering if a whistling noise I've had recently is coming from those holes...lol!
