hello folks,
Is it safe to drive if the AT Shifter lock doesnt work anymore, after last nights drive I think the lock is either broken internally of snapped out of place. Do i need to have a new Shifter **** for the R53 to have the lock active again.

Great post!

Yet another "how-to" in which there's the Big Strong Guy Way or the Two Big Strong Guys Way, and then, there's the fellow who, like me, prefers the principle of leverage over max muscle power.

Also I liked the gentle tapping with the hammer to get it back in.

BMW probably has a secret manual that starts out, "rest board on seats..."
