The latest is that the fabricator has finished what he had to do on my car yesterday and has the prototype back at his place for additional work. He is trying to get it done by the 7th as he is going on a 10 day vacation but feels good that he can accomplish what he has to do in that time . At that point it will be up to the composite shop as to how fast they can start turning them out. That is all I have for now .

Well I am not sure as to what you mean by teasers. But I do have a bit of info. As for the look you can just about look at the wing for the r-56 and you are seeing what the r-53 will look like. For all intents if you think of the wing as being 4 pieces , the lower wing / attachment piece the two uprights and the top wing the only piece that will be different is the lower wing attachment piece . One neat change though will be the incorporation of the third taillight into the trailing edge of that wing. I really think that other than that seeing the two versions side by side will not appear to be different to any great degree.
As for a production update, the all important lower wing prototype is completed. Our fabrication guy really busted his *** to get his work done before his vacation so we saved at least 10 days there. On friday we will be attaching the other 3 pieces from Peter's R-56 and see what changes needed to be made to the those molds . We will send along those changes as well as the prototype lower wing the first of next week to the mold maker. The we will be at his mercy as to when they will be completed and next up will be the fab shops schedule. That is all I know for now and as usual things are subject to change . Please feel free to ask anything and I will do my best to answer.

Sounds awesome! I can't wait to see pics for the r53. What about the rear diffusers for the r53, is that still happening???

Well these shots should give you something to think about . We completed the test fitting on the R-53 pieces and everything went well. A really neat feature is how it is notched to accept the stock location of the third taillight. Instillation will be VERY easy with only bolts in the stock locations and double sided tape. One more bit of final massaging and the pieces are off to the mold maker. I feel we are still about a month away from having production pieces but we are getting closer. Our plan is to have the all aluminum unit ready first with the CF upgraded version as a follow up.
As for the diffuser tunnles for the R-53 we have two sets that have been let out for testing on Mini road track cars so that program is still in the works .

The wing looks great! That's a pretty sweet MCS too!

How many bolts holding that thing on?

I have an idea for a different base/mounting that would use short pedestals at the stock mounting points holding on to a curved piece with the same profile as the top of the hatch. The whole idea is to catch the air going over the roof and send it down the back, which will keep the boot clean. Of course with the GP style top and ends to finish it off.

It is held on by two bolts at the stock mounting locations . It is going to take MUCH more time to get your old wing off than this one on

Cool.
Maybe one of the moderators can separate these last few posts and put them over on the new thread.

Hey guys,

Sorry for not updating sooner. DirHong met with us in our bldg. several weeks ago. I can say that the samples were TOP notch! Fit was amazing, as was the attention to detail etc. We have lots of photos to share as well, if anyone is interested. Side note, DirHong is a REALLY nice guy and a real artist as well. His music videos and passion for the car hobby are really top notch!

If this goes through, we will have 50 pieces, all in carbon fiber wing sections, and primered end plates, and center sections. MSRP will be $1599.99 each.

To make this happen we need some serious pull through from the NAM public to get DirHong to pull the trigger. SO, if you are interested PLEASE e-mail me directly.

Thanks again for the patience and the posts folks!
