I was trying to remove the door panels and removed the 4 hex bolts and poped the plastic bits off however the panel is still attached at the top does this just pull up? or am I missing something?

I didnt want to force it and run the risk of breaking something

I had an 2002 and it was just clips at the top. I pulled up from the bottom of the panel and it popped off. Good Luck!

No problem. I'm sure you'll get it off. Just take your time.

Oh and when I popped the rivets on the sides and bottom I wrapped a screwdriver with a cloth/rag in order not to scratch the panel or the door itself.

 

The first time I used the wrapped screwdriver. Ever since, just the fingertips.
For a <= '06, the door pulls straight out at the top - yes, it feels like something will break.

Nothing will.
