Interior/Exterior LED shift knobs?
I haven't seen any LED **** for the MINI at all yet, I'd imagine if you were mechanically inclined the easiest way would be modifying a made for MINI **** to have holes LEDs and wiring. Or take an LED **** and adapt it to fit the MINI. (Various shifter kits have different styles that may fit more ***** and open more options too)
Of course there is the chance I haven't come across such options in my surfing as the MINI aftermarket is fairly large

okok, i guess its not possible, as cool as that skull **** is, its not for me. too much chrome. the ideal **** would be the stock mini 6 speed ****, and the little sticker thing on the very top would be backlit with your choice of color. just checking if theirs anything like that, it looks like im gonna have to devise one of my own. =)
i think i remember seeing something like this before on a bmw, have no idea where though
sorry i can't help more

I don't know if it could be adapted, but they have these for the VWs:

They are here: http://www.namotorsports.net/detail.cfm/part_cd/RIV04R
but they only have blue or red light

the bmw shift **** will fit the cooper shift lever. bmw does offer a **** for the 3 series that is backlit - but whether it's electrical connection will fly with the cooper - well, that's another story.
Dimensionally, a BMW lever is similar to an R56 MINI lever, and a BMW **** will fit.
But, the anti-rotation slot on all BMW shift levers is rotated at about an eleven-degree angle, clockwise. That means a BMW **** installed on an R56 MINI will not line up perfectly.
A BMW **** on a pre-R56 MINI will go on, but it will spin. The key inside the **** will not reach down into the slot in the top of the lever.

Now if I could only read German. Maybe someone can try this out? It looks pretty cool and is supposed to help you get better gas mileage. Seriously, they say you will know what gear you are in so you will know if you need to shift gears.

And all this tie I wanted my tach front and center on the steering column, I didn't realize it should have been the gauge saying what gear I'm in!
Silicone.
I use a drilled-out pool ball shifter **** in Dawn, but it came with a tiny rubber gasket meant for classic American muscle cars. Without the rubber boot, the ball spun loose on the shifter shaft (it was about 1/8" too wide a hole to be snug).
All I did to fix it was fill the socket 1/3 full of bathtub-caulk silicone (clear) and then shoved the **** all the way down onto the post. Any silicone that overflowed out was wiped off with a paper towel.
BE SURE TO LET SIT ALL NIGHT and don't mess with it - by morning it will be cured and very solid. The ball can still be removed with a firm twist (harder then standard operation of the shifter).
Here is an easy to read page in english with a red indi-cator on a mini:http://www.indy-cator.com/english/home.php
Looked easy enough to install. There's a little sensor that you put near the shifter and then run through a learning mode. I didn't see much info on the Dash version, but I'm sure it's similar.
I saw that the shifter is $169, anyone find pricing on the Dash version?

You can copy in the URL and do the whole web site, or cut and paste bits and pieces. Not perfect, but it works.
