Aerodynamics

I was wondering if anyone new where to find universal rally-type aero parts. I want something different. I used to know a lot of great websites, but not anymore apparently. Also, have any of you installed canards? I like the splitter but its just a little too much money right now. I just want some new ideas for the mini.

What exactly are you calling canards cause I saw nothing on that site that even looked like a canard.

You're right. I totally linked to the wrong site. I'll fix it later. My apologies.

Alright... I'm sorry. That is what happens when I try to do things I shouldn't be doing at work. Here you go.

I am really curious to see where you mount them exactly and how they will look. If it is a good look I may have to buy some.

I agree. Its a necessary evil with universal parts. I do have a bit of experience with that sort of thing though. In the end, for me, its a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon. Working on cars is my hobby and my passion, so I say bring it on. It may not look good, and so I dont use it. If it does, all the better

I'm especially curious, considering the MINI has virtually no overhang for a canard.

They'll have to go on backwards to fit a Mini, which may come out OK. Won't be an easy job I don't think.

MaxMini - Did you ever mount the canards? I am thinking about some for my 05 MCS. I am concerned that there's not enough space and am thinking of something short and small...almost like a 2nd splitter.

That's a big negative. I sat in my garage for about three hours with a pack of cigarettes, 4 Red Bulls, and I could not figure out a way to make what I had work in a way that looked good at all. Now that said, it could be done, particularly if someone had either better tools than I, or began with a sheet of ABS or CF that they could cut specifically to the curvature of the Cooper's bumper. I think it would look great. Let us know if you figure it out.

I know the guy that makes these canards, he's good. They look great and actually WORK. When I first saw them I thought "finally canards that look good, are easy to install and work". If you"re interested PM me

excuse my ignorance, but what does a "canard" do for you or your car?
