It's your car. If you like it then cool. I have had limo tint on almost all my vehicles and never got bugged by the cops. Even had my windshield limo for a while on my mini truck. Took it off because it was hard to drive at night.. haha
most of the time im driving with the windows down anyways.
only time its hard is rain.
rain at night is IMPOSSIBLE, but thats rare so i deal with it, or just dont drive. til it stops lol.

I recently had 6% tint applied to all the glass but the windshield. I had to sign a waiver from the merchant, but it's well worth it. In Mass the leageal % is 35%. With the car height being so low to the ground at night the lights from any SUV or truck illuminate the entire car cabin....kinda felt like I was in a fish tank. The tinting dramatically reduced the cabin illumination and the car looks wicked cool from the outside. No hassles from the cops, if they do ask I tell them that I bought the car with the tint (I bought mine used).
This is not my 1st car with tint and I have never had any issue with passing state inspections.

Yeah i used to think that was cool...but then again i used to like 20's..i still have 5% on the mini....its really stupid....im going to strip my tint and run 30% or none....look at 90% of the euro or V-DUB guys run nothing or the legal limit....but to each his own

florida = no inspections!!

besides that, ive had maybe 1 or 2 warnings i think, thats all.
exterior pics?
this was the old tint, i retinted it with straight black Llumar film. before it was 3M i believe, had a slight mirrior to it, looked like complete *** at certain times of the day. now its all black and looks great. better pics later

the pic makes it look a little darker, plus its actually easier to see with it all the way up rather than cracked down, becuase when sun comes in, it reflects on the tint
That a good point about the tint appearing lighter with cars with sun roofs, maybe that why I don't get hassled. I live in a very small town and the cops are right ontop of anyone stepping out of line.
I had a state cop stopped right next to me (travelling the other direction) in traffic and he didn't appear to take notice that he could not see me very clearly, maybe that would have been different if it was at night or a cloudy day
Now I'm going to be paranoid!!!!lol

Yeah, llumar is the way to go.
I'm 35% all around and quite content. I would like to do something slight to the windshield but I'd really get harassed then. (70% is the limit for the sides both front + back here in NY!!!)
Actually, in terms of appearance.. Originally I walked in wanting 50%, playing it safe. But there was a mazda 3 right there with 35%, looked fine.. Get the MINI done – looks A LOT darker with no sunroof, no large back window, and the anthracite interior. But hey, it's worked out.

i have a hard time at night with my 35% tint on the side windows. I don't know how you drive like that.
I've lately been considering peeling my tint off because i like the clear glass look and night driving... but it would be too hot in the summer then.
