Removing the drivers side dash trim

My fingers hurt pretty bad and i cannot for the love of god figure out why the dash trim doesn't want to come off (i have big hands and i am no weakling).
I followed the instructions from Unixgal's post ->

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=110837

and the bloody trim on the drivers side just doesn't want to come off. Unixgal pretty much explained it in a very obvious way but the trim on my MINI just doesn't want to come off. Any other tricks/hints? - I have big hands and my fingers aren't exactly small.

I am doing this to get the Kuda mount in place (i'll whine as to how shitty their documentation is for a 95$ product sometime later ) and i totally suck at getting that trim off :(
