That looks great!! I may diddie bop down to Pep Boys and get some tape and do mine. I like the black out look. The best part is that Pep Boys is 45miles away and I get to drive the MINI.

Attention Everyone.....this is what I used

Trimbrite Blackout Tape

Already comes in a 1 3/8 inch thickness. I found mine in Pepboys, but you can purchase it online as well. Great product.

Question to those who might know: if one did this using the Trimbrite Blackout Tape, and later changed his mind...how difficult would it be to remove? Just peel off the tape? Nasty residue? Anyone?

I finally got motivated and decided to try this. I really like the results - it cleans up the front of my car... not as busy... which is a challenge, given all the crap that I have slapped on there...

And makes it a bit more aggressive. I like it... surprisingly, so does the Mrs.

I like the look of the black slats on your cool blue. With the amount of bling you have it detracts nicely and the contrast between the black and blue is subtle and works well. I have seen numerous pics of other colors including PW with this mod, and IMO the increase in contrast emphasizes the slats and it doesn't work nearly as well as the aftermarket black grills. But since I don't want to loose my chrome, it may be a while until I figure out a solution. Score another one for Blimey.
