Interior/Exterior Minspeed Lamp Bar
Minspeed Lamp Bar

Like it because it doesn't put stress on the bonnet gas dampers and involves no drilling. And now for the question battery...
Anyone have it?
Thoughts?
Does it scratch the upper bumper paint at all?
Thick enough to resist bending?
Does it mount into the same points that the M7 Air Diverter bolts into?
With lamps mounted, does the wiring get pinched by the bonnet?
...I think that's it
.

That looks like a great light bar. Too bad I did not see this couple week ago when I made a cutom one. The picture has the hella 500s which I have right now so my guess is that its a pretty stable bar. I like where it mounts as well but for the smaller lights since the big hellas look weird up there.
I emailed their info contact email, so I'll hopefully have answers soon enough. If all is well, I'll stick two fogs and two driving lights on there...post some pictures then.

Good luck. However , I would not put fogs on there. Driving lights would be great and with 2 you would have plenty of light output. You should install fog lights way below that so you get the most out of them.

While I don't have the light bar, I know Peter (Minspeed is nearby) and he sells good stuff and stands behind what he sells. Don't email him - Give him a call and yak it up.
The Alta bar was on my Xmas list, but I do like this one. My biggest concern would be light wobble. I think the Alta bar is cool, but Missouri has a front license plate requirement. So either I buy the bar and my own lights separately or waste two lights. This also provides for a more practical look for my needs. If anybody has this setup, or information on it, please offer some input. Thanks a bunch.

Maybe they can step back a bit and take a picture. I'de be concerned about the profile look. Sometimes those high mounted lights look a little "off". From the drivers seat it might look like you're driving a plow truck.
Follow Up.
Follow up, Pete's response to the email I sent.

Dear Matthew;
Thanks for your inquiry!
The bar is 12.5mm thick. I will tell you that you will have some giggling with four lamps mounted. We found it near-impossible to get a suitable bar to hold lamps that don't giggle unless they're weleded to some support above-below.
It does mount on the same radiator bolts at the M7 piece. We've built a "tab" on the center part of the bar with a rubber cushion on it so it won't gouge the bumper or paint. Occassionally one will need to make some adjustments in the hood catch. It has a black anodized finish. The wires don't get pinched if you run them correctly.
Hope that helps you out.
Sincerely,
Pete Foglia

Subject: Minspeed Lamp Bar Questions
To whom it may concern,
http://minspeed.net/MMLB.htm
I really like the idea of this product because it doesn't put stress on the
bonnet gas dampers and involves no drilling. Aside from that though, I do
have a few questions about the product, and have yet to get an answer about them on the North American Motoring forums and was hoping you could help:
Have you heard of any problems with it scratching the paint on the upper
bumper (from rubbing or dirt being caught)?
How thick is it? I can't tell, but I would assume it is thick enough to
resist bending from being loaded with 4 lights.
Does it mount into the same points that the M7 Air Diverter
(http://www.m7tuning.com/parts/produc...products_id=25)
bolts into?
With lamps mounted, does the wiring get pinched by the bonnet?
Thanks in advance,
Matthew Mahoney

Thanks for the response and information. I feel stupid now, but initally i thought it was just the two outter lights on the bar, and that the middle were the stock driving lights. I guess I have a good base for my Christmas list now. If any body gets one please write something!
After looking at Light bar's/ mounts and lighs for some time now (2 years)

I have not wired up the New Hella 500's

The OEM light's are good to go....
"The Bar"

Is finished in BLACK POWDER COAT and bolts to the bumper support using the factory bolts. It is LASER CUT to match the bumper curve perfectly. A center bracket for extra support for heavy lights. Must use low profile lights. All allen bolts hold the 4 piece kit together.

I will take better photo's tomorrow'ish ;D

I had to cut 3 gaps into the lip on the top of the bumper fascia (1/4in lip) for the brackets.
I had help with the bumper removal + the aluminum Bumper bar.
We had to grind out a part of the Inside lip(bumper bar), so the center support bracket would line up with the bolt holes.

It is very stable I have to realy push hard on the bar for it to flex 1/4in

So, this was definitely the Minspeed one? Looks quite different (sturdier...I like). If so though, I'll order it within the next few days. If not, any idea how I could get my hands on it?

I'm sorry, but the fact that he said it was "giggling" twice instead of "jiggling" made me giggle a bit myself.
Either way, the bar looks great. I didn't used to like the driving lights, but the more and more I see, the more that I like them

The bar looks very solid but does come at a price (no going back).

Hey Bart long time now see
I don't think there is a "light bar" on the market that needs some sort of modification to one part or another, some more than others.
With the Bonnet closed the cuts can not be seen, with the bonnet up yes you can see the cuts (should of put some touch up paint
to cover up the exposed black plastic/abs)
I should take some close up photo's of the cuts etc!

And I agree - no light bar is perfect but then again non of these bars are for hardcore off road racing. As I mentioned I have the PIAA lights w/ mini brackets (had to cut the grill). Also since attached to the bonnet the lights need to be adjusted every now and then do to opening and closing the bonnet.
