Interior/Exterior Brake light cover without chrome trim?

Brake light cover without chrome trim?
I occasionally see a picture of an R53 with no chrome trim around the brake light cover. Did some of the MINI's come like this from the factory or is this an after market option we might be able to look forward to seeing in the future for the R56's?
