Straßentech lip

Saw the thread about Straßentech front lip, besides those awesome pics there, any one else have the installed pics to share? Especially the FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) one.

I think that these are the nicest looking front lips that you can buy, but they are also some of the most expensive. If anyone knows where to find them cheap please let me know.

Wish they made a CF lip like that for the Aero bumper. It looks great, as it fits as an attachment and kinda flush with the bumper. Id rather have something like that then cf "splitter" type as i dont really like that flat thin board look. And i hate that you have to drill holes and add those reinforcement bar thingys

How difficult for installation? Any installation instruction can share?

It uses the existing mounting points but with longer screws which they provide. It also comes with 3m tape to secure it even further. Installation took about 15 minutes.

Does it require removal of front bumper and drilling to install.

Removing the bumper makes things easier. The bumper cover comes off and goes back on in less than 10 min.

I love my Strassentech front spoiler. It is not too low so I don"t scrape on every little bump.

Here is a pic at Auro Cross...

As usual, Rally... you're at the front of the good-taste line.

That's pretty cool...

The non-Aero one sticks REALLY far forward, doesn't it? Or was it installed a bit more forward than standard for effect? Looks a bit unbalanced IMHO...

It's the angle of the picture. I've seen Mark's car in person, and the lip isn't that obtrusive. It's actually quite remarkably beautiful

The Strassentech lip is one of the most eye catching parts of my MINI that I get the most comments about. I really like it.

I opted to save a bit of money with the FRP instead of carbon fiber and it was around $400. As far as I know, they are all hand made--hand laid fibers. I managed to crack a small dime sized portion of mine when I stupidly tried to use some Rhino Ramps and forgot about the lip hitting the ramps first (yes a block of wood is helpful here )

The piece that came off showed the fibers inside. I just epoxied it back, and it looks good as new. The outer shell is hard.

I believe Waylen of Waymotorworks has them, or can get them. I forget his price...

Waylen will do a group buy also. We tried to get one going about 3 months ago, but not enough takers. The standard price is about $395 I believe.

What was the group buy price? It's a bit steep, but not ridiculously so...

If you go to the BimmerPerformanceStore website, my MINI is in their Gallery. I saw it on mark's MINI at MOTD this past year and got one soon after. It is really sweet and I love it.
