Nice how they drive away on the wrong side of the road, come close to taking out the front of a car, run a stop sign, then cross the yellow line again.

I wonder if the license plate could be read by the police in the full-size video.

See ya,
JS

I remember that being on the news a while back here over in San Francisco. So far I have not seen or heard anyone with the whistle exhausts. hahahaha, yeah that woo woo guy is funny, he said that the whistle is supposed to be an alarm clock for those complaining about the noise in the morning.

ghetto

Damn funny news clip. I am amazed to see people be so dumb and proud of it. The scary thing is we are sharing the road with this idiot. I hope the law saw the clip of his driving and sent them a ticket or three.

Uhmm, those aren't cool? Damn - I better go take them out.

Here is a video of them in action on my car. http://racingline.teamspeedsims.com/wistles.zip (I know it's spelled wrong)

Might not work right away, but should be working within the hour.

There's an old idea coming around again. People used these things on Model Ts, except they mounted them on a cutout diverter so it only blew when they stepped on a pedal or pulled a cord. Back in the days of the "ahOOga" horn they used to worry about the klaxon causing panic in horses, making women faint from the sudden nervous shock, and causing elderly people to freeze in the path of the automobilist. Hence the search for a melodious warning of approach.

One of the companies that made exhaust whistles in the old days was Aermore, and you can still find them on eBay and in antique stores all over. Pretty simple idea. Not hard to make once you understand some basic design considerations for the horn/whistle.

Also, did you catch the dude running the stop sign while demonstrating the sound?
