2 spoke steering wheel bangle liposuction
i've always hated the 2 spoke steering wheel ergonomics. the 3 spoker with the thinner upper attachments is better, but wasn't available when i got my car.
guessing that they didn't change the underlying metal, i probed the rubbery area and sure enough, the metal sokes are relatively small. so here we are in the middle of surgery: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...00&ppuser=4821
you can see how much i've removed about the same amount is removed on the front side of the wheel. i made nice depressions for where my thumbs fall. here's the finished mod: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...00&ppuser=4821
this is MUCH better! i have several hand position options with this. i even prefer this to a standard 3 spoker.
some may think it looks goofy, but i don't care. it looks like something chris bangle would do: "an incongruous but synergistic blending of a sheet rippling over a powerful form beneath...." or some other artsy fartsy excuse for bad design

i wanted to keep the airbag, not got through the hassle and expense of trying out an aftermarket wheel, sort of keep a stock look, and have the enjoyment of designing and doing it myself. i even considered putting a molding compound on the exposed areas and getting an exact custom fit to my hands, but i didn't need to go that far.
