Brushed Alloy?

Has anyone specc'd out the brushed alloy trim? I haven't been able to see one as all the ones at the dealers have either piano black (most), standard checkered, english oak, or fluid silver. I like the piano black, but just afraid it'd scratch too easily. Any info? TIA.

I have brushed alloy and think it looks great. You can see it in my gallery. It seems to be pretty much maintenance free as well. I haven't had any scratches or issues in 2 months. I like it much better than the other trims I've seen.

Brushed alloy was the best choice I made in my interior followed by the anthracite headliner. If you are thinking about getting it, just get it. Easy up keep and it looks great with the standard colorline.

I also have the brushed alloy trim. Here is a picture of it

As the other have said, It is basically maintenance free. And it is real brushed metal, not a plastic piece that can scratch.

This is the interior that i liked the most of them all. Get it, you won't regret it.

I ordered mine with brushed alloy also. It has a matte metal finish and no finger prints.

Thanks everyone for input as well as links to galleries! Time to spec the brushed alloy! Now just trying to see when 2008's are going to be released, but if I can't wait, I'll just have to go w/ 2007!

jyarrow, I love your gallery! My "boss-lady" will love the pic of the 2 carseats in the back! How do you like the rooster red trim? I'm thinking about spec'ing that as well.

The rooster red with brushed alloy is loved by the whole family. It's just enough accent and reminds us what a fun car it is. It also works great with dark silver.

My problem with the brushed alloy is that color-wise, it is very similar to the silver checkered that comes standard on the S, so I have a hard time justifying the cost. But to each their own. Still looks very nice!

I don't like the standard silver checks. They seem busy and gimmicky. The alloy is expensive, but it seems substantially nicer for us. But that's the great thing about MINIs - they are personal decisions and they all look good.

I agree, the checks look a little "Fisher-Price" to me. I'll be ordering the brushed alloy when I place my order tomorrow. (yippee!)

I agree they are a little busy. That's why I got the red color line and seats to offset the busy-ness and dress it up a bit!
