Interior/Exterior Aero vs Chrome Line Grilles
Aero vs Chrome Line Grilles
my car is in the body shop for some minor repair. insurance is paying the tab. i have the chrome bonnet grille and was contemplating replacing it with the black "aero" grille. which costs more? the insurance company is obligated to the chrome and so i want the "benefit" should i choose to install the aero. thanks.
Call your dealer (I'm assuming that they'll order OEM parts only right from MINI) and get a price comparison. Places like Outmotoring.com sell both units, but I'm not sure how an aftermarket shop's prices will compare to OEM (or wherever the insurance company will force you to order from) so I'd hate to give you a price only to discover that it's different from their "official" parts supplier.
Honestly, the body shop should tell you where they get parts from and should be able to get you a quote comparison before you have to make a decision - can't they?

Aero Grill is inexpensive. I just bought one from Classic Mini, as they support NAM members with a discount...as in:
1. Bonnet Grille retail $51.25 / nam price $41.00
2. Upper Bumper Grille retail $37.25 / nam price $29.80
3. Lower Bumper Grille retail $44.25 / nam price $35.40
Shipping is extra

If you have and S WITHOUT the aero kit, you do not need #3. So $70.80 + Shipping.
