Interior/Exterior removing upper front grill :(
removing upper front grill :(
I'm actually quite ashamed for this one :(
I'm trying to get my front grill off but I can't seem to figure out out how :s
I've searched the forum, and read some DIY, but they're all like, "take off the frontgrill" ... :s
And I don't understand the whole situation about the self tapping bolts (whatever that may be)I tried to get them off, but now I can't get them back on ...
no:
the strange things is, i've worked for three years on motorbikes ... but I can't take of the front grill of a car ... I think I'm about to cry
SERIOUSLY
(i've added some pics, can someone be friendly enough to guide me ?)
thx

Perhaps these plastic parts broke off when you removed the nuts??
They are usually pretty flimsy and from what I've read about MINI parts, they use a lot of 'one-time' fasteners in their construction. If they are broken off, you will need to replace the part!
And I believe Belgium is on the western coast of Europe, near France. No, I did not look at a map or globe!
the way i got them off was to use a socket and a flat screwdriver. I woult put the screwdriver under the nut and start turning the socket, as you get going you have to keep pressure on the nut with the screwdriver.
Putting them back on is just as annoying, i know some people put more nuts in the socket so that is is really shallow.
For removing and installing I noticed if you put the nut at an angle it would move up and down the threads without too much pressue as you turned it with a socket. Obviously by doing this you are cross threading, but it worked for me and i dont plan to take the aero grill off anytime soon.
