installation fees >.<

I just called my dealer today and I asked how much would it cost to install the auxilliary guages and auxilliary input in my 04 mini. They say it will cost 330 for just installation fee. The parts itself is going to cost up to 300 should I just pay the money or attempt to do it myself. I don't know if anyone else installed the guages themselves. Was it easy?
Thanks in advance

I would say do as much of the install as you can. I don't know what gauges you want but at least get them in place and to a point where the dealer spends as little time as possible on your car (time=$$$$ of course). The Aux is a snap -- you can do it !! Don't forget if you get into anything you don't understand most people on NAM have been through it all at least once, just ask! Good Luck!

Hard for somebody else to tell you what you're up to doing. The install for the aux input is simple. The install for the gauges is a bit more complicated, but still not difficult if you know your way around tools. There are how-to's for both of those things floating around. The first test for deciding whether or not you can do it is to find the how-tos.
