Hi,
I have the autometer elec oil pres and temp gauge, and also have the cravenspeed adapter..Only thing is ,it's not installed yet..
There's a few things i wanna ask though,
First,i can't find any pics of the elec install..
Second, how do you connect the sender to the gauge?
Thanks in advance!
Tom.

AM Electric Oil Pressure Gauge
You need to run the AM wire through the fire wall behind the air filter. Here are some pix of my routing.
This is below the oil filter (you can see where the wire loom has melted from the exhaust manifold):

Thanks, for posting some pics of your install!
Im still confused though cause i can't see the sender that i got with my autometer gauge.
Included in package i recieved,
-Gauge
-Sender www.autometer.com/cat_accessoriesdetail.aspx?vid=24
-No wire at all, except for the light bulb
So what's that AM wire?
Appreciate the help Chuckt

You can see mine in the first pic. It came with the AM 4953 kit. The sender that comes with it is different than yours.
It looks like this:

mechanical oil pressure gauge install
Greetings to all and many thanks to those who gave instructions for the oil pressure and boost gauge installation process. I humbly add a few further "tips":
1.There is "more real estate" if the top heat shield is taken off. Just two small bolts into the head. After taking this off one can actulally see the oil sending unit etc. If you use a mirror you can see the whole unit.
2. If you gently pull on the wire from the sending unit you'll probably have enough to reconnect after putting on the tapless adaptor; mine did. The one from Mini mania was well constructed and fit perfectly.
3.I would suggest putting a heat shield over the sending unit because it will be directly in the way of the exhaust.
4.Use copper tubing only, nylon is a thermal plastic; living dangerously is one thing but it's not a worthwhile risk in this case. Copper only!
5. The power wire is gray and red so the gauges dim as should be.
6. Thank you, a heart felt thanks again to all who posted pictures and detailed writeups they were very valuable and made the job possible for an otherwise backyard wrencho.

Very nice thread. I'm embarking on the installation of an AutoMeter "UltraLight" electric boost and oil pressure gauge set placed in the Alta pod. I understand that ProMini makes a triple adaptor for the various electrical sending units that might share the same oil pressure port on the block. I have not been able to find any reference of this part on the ProMini web site, so a call is in order. Otherwise I'll make a trip to HomeDepot as you suggest for some brass plumbing parts. I was wondering how difficult it would be to get into the engine bay...you have been good to illuminate us all...thanks!
