So glad to find this... Ive had my new base for a while.. but Youtube and my Bentley Shop Manual told me little to nothing. My question is... what is holding the 2 rear side pillars... I saw the picture?.. was wondering if its push clips or a actual screw?... also is the plastic around the rear sunroof snap on and off? finally once you got those 2 things removed.. were you able to drop the rear roof enough to actually SEE the connectors?.. or was it by feel? THANKS!

Thanks for the write up!! This post gave me the confidence to try this out. I recorded my experience as I was able to also replace the base without removing the roof liner.

Just wanted to give back to the community if I can.

WOW! I can't wait to check this out ! THANKS !I should have filmed my repair , but I thought there might be too much swearing . 😁 I will check this out asap , as we know with MINIS that there's always some quirky problem just around the corner.
Thanks for this !!!🙋

Thanks for the knowledge

Reading this thread in 2024. Wife just picked up a 2013 Clubman s, it is so much fun to drive. Thanks for the diy, I need to replace the antennae but got stuck (read scared) by the airbag sign. Thanks to you and My Fellow 07 (from 2015), I am ready to tackle this.

^ so glad to hear about your success! Much luck to you with your MINI

Sadly, I had to "jump ship" a few weeks ago. My MINI was costing thousandS in repairs each of the past two years (even at an indy shop) and I discovered 2024 was the last year for manual transmission on MINI and other brands. I wanted awd manual this time so went with a Golf R.
Sad day seeing the MINI taken away; it was running okay but, being an R56, I had to replace things I'd recently replaced. It seems there was no end. Someone got a well cared for beauty with new snow tires, two other sets of wheels, and a new clutch

If I hadn't had this forum, I would never have been able to keep my MINI for 16 years. In 2008 when I got it, it barely started on a cold November day and folks here told me it was frozen condensation in the intake manifold.

Thanks to everyone here for all of your help, support, and therapy. Best of luck to all!!!!
