INVIDIA Q300 install on R56

INVIDIA Q300 install on R56-100_0233.jpg

I did the install in the street on two jack stands. That being said, the install took about 2 hrs (removal, assembly, fit, troubleshooting).

I chose this exhaust because of the simplicity of the install. Remove OEM exhaust, install Q300.

Take this moment to recall Murphy's Law...

Jacked the car up on one side, enough to get under the car...

Removed the center plate (6 - 10mm bolts)...
Loosened and removed clamp on downpipe to release OEM exhaust...

Popped hangers off exhaust... Middle first, then rear
WD-40 will help slide the hangers off the exhaust...

assembled the Q300 side by side to OEM, kept all the clamps loose enough so that the pieces would spin or slide a little if needed...

all looked well...

until we went to fit the Q300 to the downpipe... you'll notice the difference in the length at the point where it fits to the D/P ...

used a Dremel and hack saw to cut it down about a 1/4" ...

hung and clamped the exhaust... tightened all the clamps wit as much human force as possible and started her up...

i didnt reinstall the center plate bc the exhaust was rattling against it at certain RPMs...

Noticeable butt-dyno increase in power? Do you have any sound clips?

Is it necessary to trim that piece? I think mine was left the way it came - I had a local shop throw it on for me.

sounds clips are coming, my cousin and i did some videos which are in editing. havent had a chance to get her on a dyno yet. im goin to assume that she came wit the stock 181 that the spec's claim. and just go from there as far as any increase in hp or torque are concerned... i can feel a noticeable gain in power overalll if that helps any speculations anyone might have.
