Might have to miss an autocross for this
Seems like race day on "movie days".
Will definitely bring the digi. cam. Who knows, there might be something
new on the showroom floor or the display cabinet

Seems that the monthly autocross falls on the movie sunday. Anyway we can make a switch? I would like Latka and Kohu'ulaMini not to have to choose one or the other.

Aloha and greetings from Hawaii!
Welcome back- we have a little bit of Hawaii here at this corner of MCO. It's just like you are here.
Sure we can assist you. Probably the best bet is to call the dealership directly. Rough hours are 10am to 6 pm daily open 7 days a week. Except holidays like the 4th of July. Phone (808)593-8699. Explain that you learned of them from MCO and what you would like. Let them know what size and color are good for you. You can purchase with your credit card and tell them to hold the item for you. Ask for no state tax since it is to be mailed to you. Tax is 4% here. Then tell them I will come to pick it up to send it off in the mail to you ASAP. They all know me at the dealership. They can tell by my bulging eyes- I look like a yellow puffer fish.

Then once you complete the purchase. Send me personal mail and let me know your address and voila! Presto changi.
And if you want to enjoy a bit of silly 70s culture from Hawaii check out Kikaider!

  I will contact them on Monday. Do you know if they have several different styles? I know our local dealership does. I was hoping to get one that says MINI of Hawaii or something like that.

I guess I could check and see if they have a web site - duh right?

I can tell you what I have seen. they are open right now and on sunday. I will be there to look on sunday morning.
Here is what I have or have seen.
Polo shirts with sleeve and collar checkerboard design accent with red piping.
White or Black in various sizes. I have a 38 chest and wear a medium polo. 100% cotton made by Port Authority. Front left chest embroidered "MINI" (1" high) with "of Hawaii" below it . total dimensions are 2.5" long and 1.5" high. On the left sleeve is an embroidered silver and black MINI wings logo 3" long and 1.25" tall.
Looks like this:
http://www.pegasusco.com/polo-shirts/k424.html
I can get them for a little less. Regular price about $29.95. I would need to know the sizes.

Also they have T-shirts at $16 each in various colors like black, white, red, and yellow.
Hanes Comfort T pre shrunk 100% cotton I wear adult Large (42-44)
It has on the left chest a silk screened Mini wing logo in one color either black or white 3.5" wide and 1.75" tall.
On the back in the center is a large screened realistic looking MINI wing logo (11"x5&quotwith MINI of Hawaii (7.5"x1&quotbelow it. Not all sizes and colors are available in the T-shirts so give me some choices.

I can do some shoppi or you on Sunday or you can call them yourself. If I buy them I do pay the 4% state tax.
Let me know how you want them shipped. and the address.

We would be interested in the T-shirts - I wear a small (good luck finding that one eh?) and Mike would like a large. Color choices would be white, red, blue - no black or grey. We have enough of those colors - LOL!

I was at the dealership today. One large white t-shirt no problem
Looking for sizes in the red. Will try to get one small and one large or at least one small.
The parts dept has them but they were not open on Sunday. Will check again tomorrow.
Stay tuned.

Donna,
I have one medium red MINI of Hawaii t-shirt. Unfortunately it's slightly worn already & I've become real attached to it. It brings back fond memories of the great people my hubby & I met back in April.

Aloha to all my Hawaii friends,
Lois

I just stumbled upon this site (as advised by Aka), and noticed this posting regarding a MINI Club. For a while the postings seemed to have gone astray, but if you folks are still looking, I'd love to be a member.

Let me know!

keikilee,
Aloha and welcome to MCO. Yes you are in. We want you. We are still thinking of a great club name.
Check out the previous posts on the Hui name and make some suggestions. Put in your vote.

I like your name.

so what in the world ever happened to this? i'm ready to do the bylaws and finish the darn paperwork myself already just to get this club going.

does andy still want to do this? if not, can someone with lots of time complete whatever needs to be completed to get the show on the road? The club doesn't need to do all of the stuff that Andy talked about in the first post....we can just get established, then talk details/events later.

I think it'll help to be an actual club and kick it off during the big June picnic. The group was HUGe at MoH this morning....so expect, we could get a big turnout in June as well. That would be an opportunity to get people signed up, etc.

Just a thought. I'll gladly do what is necessary to get this started if someone would tell me what to do.

How big was the group at MoH? Fifty cars? Twenty cars?

What kind of work needs to be completed? I guess in Andy's absence, the VP steps up to the plate, and that's me! IF we do something like this, we'll need a full slate of officers: Pres, VP, Sect'y, Treas and possibly some ancillary positions such as Driving Events Coordinator and Ombudsman. With the amount of problems members have been having, you'd need an experienced negotiator/investigator as a ombudsman.

We also need to figure out membership dues. IIRC, we sort of settled on $20 a year for membership dues. What members would get for their money is a membership card and a quarterly newsletter. So, we'd need to get a printer and someone that can do graphics for a card and newsletter design.
