Self Wash

--Hickam Air Force Base has one that you can use if you are military or have a dependants or civilian CAC ID. It's like $1.25 for five minutes of all the water and soap you can spray and scrub on. I think I used like $6 for half an hour. It's not bad for a fast wash but you can't sit down with a brush and bucket.

What about self car washes where I can go to pay a small fee to use water/vacuum and do the washing myself?

Just be glad you don't have snow and a winter to fight with.

We can wash anytime all year and keep out MINIs clean

I see some detailing business down by Ala Moana and Piikoi in the shopping center parking lot lower level. I never have stopped to check out the prices.

One thing I really like about the MINI is that it's really small and quite fast to clean up. Especially compared to a Van or SUV.

I had the 18k detail. They did a pretty good job. They charge extra if you have water spots on the paint though. It's $75 for the acid wash to get that off. Very professional very fast.

Has anyone tried Auto Detail Magician?

http://www.autodetailmagician.com/

Their Super-Pro Wash/Wax package (exterior + wheel wash and interior vacuum) is only $35.

No, I was hoping someone here had tried them so I could get a report.

Do you think the 76 station's automatic car wash on the corner of Beretania and Keeaumoku is safe? It's all that cloth stuff, no brushes. They hand dry it when you pull out.

I always see a line of cars there so I figure it's good, but I've been hesitant to taking my Mini there because everyone keeps telling me to STAY AWAY from automatic car washes. But even if it's brushless?

no-auto-wash

--Hey Trizik, yeah I would stay away from those autowashes. If you only have the steelie wheels and don't really care about the external of your car then I guess it's okay, but most of us are kinda paranoid about scratches on painted wheels, mirrors getting knocked off and general scratches here and there from an auto wash. That place in Pearlridge area is supposed to be pretty cheap. I'll probably take my MINI there by years end to have a X-mas detail and have a report for everyone.
