Looking for old mini
Looking for old mini
Greetings,
I'm a brit living in Hawaii who desperately wants to drive a real mini. We've had minis in the UK, and they are the ultimate. I thought about importing, but someone told me you can't import more modern models (post 1980's?). Does anyone know of any for sale on the islands?
I also found the gomini.com site - does anyone have any thoughts about splashing out on the VTEC's and importing?
Cheers,
Rich

If I were you, I'd buy this one and have it shipped over from Holland. I just sold one identical to it for $16K. And it got the right papers for a 1999 car.

Thanks for the comments, I hadn't thought of checking ebay - normally like to steer clear of the "ebay sellers market", people seem to pay a lot for stupid stuff, seems to be OK for mini market, scary to buy a car without driving though...
I wonder how hard it is to get EPA, DOT docs for a british car - I have friends their who could help buy...

You just need to be able to complete this form....

That seller has a good rep and could not afford the negative feedback on a bad car. If he ever sold something lousy, he could never sell on eBay again.

Be careful about those EBay cars. I think Baronious got one from EBay and to this date he still has not been able to register his Innocenti.

Thanks for the ebay warning, I think there are some good cars - but easy to get burnt. Seems like there are a majority of older models - pre-80s, I wonder how much of a vehicle has to be >25 yrs old for a vehicle to be >25 yrs old?
The only part of the vehicle that has to be >25 yrs. old is the registration year.
