Auto Clear guard/Bra installer reference

Anybody had their car done by RGR Trading? His name is Dan from Hawaii Kai. He said he install some of the Mini's but he only remember installing to a Blue/white Mini S who lives in Ewa Beach or Aiea.(either Brad or Bran something, something) Any one knows this person?
I need recommendations.

btw: cost to install complete (bonnet &bumper) $400.00 for 8hrs job.

i had mine done including some extra pieces for the rear and front bumper for ~$175 installation only. that was by james mcghee, whose # i have. unfortunately, he is very difficult nowadays to get a hold of. the actual kit itself i had bought from ryan burroughs for ~$295. so total = ~$475. if your price includes the kit and labor, that's a pretty good deal. and yes, the labor is quite intensive. just watch him install it for 5-10 minutes and you'll be glad you're not installing it.

now i know of at least one owner who did his own install, but that was with the thinner film. the thicker film, forget it, no ways i would even try installing it myself. according to james, the mini is probably one of the 3 hardest cars to install on due to its various peaks and valleys on its bonnet. on mine, james redid it 2-3x. and even now it's far from perfect. but i'm happy with the protection, and it's really difficult to see the imperfections in the film under normal observation. closer up, the cloudy areas and minor wrinkling are noticeable. but it does the job.

i have heard that tnt tinting has sent a few guys to the mainland for training in the clear bra installing process. don't know if darrell has had any minis done by them yet. i've also noticed an ad in the island previews free mag for some product that sounds similar, i think called g35.

all in all, if got another mini, i'd do it again. but for some reason, i don't notice many cars in hawaii with the clear bra.

Thanks, the $400 just the labor and material around $300-400 I think with this price I probably settle for carbon fiber hood.... Too bad not enough competion and demand are not that great either...

Clear bras rule

I really am happy with the protection from those darned little rock chips on my British Racing Green MCS.As usual, the manufacturers have not figured out that the primer needs to match the base color coat on cars and trucks. If car and truck buyers knew who to complain to it would be great.

$400 just for install? that's outrageous. i believe when the vendor first started advertising on nam, he stated that installlation charges will vary, but not up to $400. i'd call or check the 3M website as they are the manufacturer of all the clear bras/invisishield/etc. products, and they have a list of installers by state.

like i said before if i got another mini, i'd get it again. but i'd probably check with tnt tinting, as they must have practiced a few times on minis by now. if that other guy only remembers doing one mini install, forget it. i'd definitely recommend going with the guy who has the most experience with installing specificallly on minis, as they are one of the hardest cars around.

There are 2 types of clear bra i think, 3M which is thicker and hard to install the other according to ProTint(they use to be installer) are easier and DIY kind thing. I e-maled InvisiGuard and referred me with 4 installer, out of 4
the RGR Trading are the one who are ACTIVE (the rest quit) but too costly.
If T&T does intall, great to know...
Any more suggestions

I talked to T&T recently about thier invisishield and they said around 600 for parts and labor. That was for a full package (similar to the area shown on miniusa.com under options) not thier basic package which only covers a much smaller area.

Unless I hear something bad about them think thats where I'm going to go for my tinting and invisishield

at least the good thing with tnt is that they are a very reputable and established company. so if there's any problems, i'm sure they'll take care of it.

I talked to them yesterday and they qouted me $600.00 parts & labor... I think the only difference is the material and they cut their own. Is it worthit? I think i"m just have them do the lower section, the hood---- maybe C/F be next Mod.

Update: T & T tinting refused to install Clear Bra to my car after I mentioned
its newly painted.... They said it may get damage and they don't want responsibility.
I guess I just had to do it myself.

New Vehicle (factory paint) not a problem, they will do it. Mine are third party paint, they said it might peel-off during installation.

This is kind of off-topic, but what color did you decide? Did you get it back yet? You've got to come to the next meet, I'd dying to see the new paint job!

Same color (pure Silver) with matching wheel arches, side skirts and black bonnet stripes also upgraded my Borla-race exhaust-- kind a loud now, my
daughter said too noisy
btw: Anybody get invited this coming Saturday? Randy mentioned something
meeting in the afternoon (they closing down early for the event)...

when i had my painted trim clear-guarded, the installer did ask if it was ok to work on it. fortuanately, the paint shop allowed the trim to fully cure before handing the mini back over to me. so he went ahead and applied the clear bra w/o any problems.

the installer was a solo businessman, but is currently nearly impossible to get a hold of, as he is involved with other business ventures. in fact, last i talked to him, he was saying that the clear guard stuff is more like his side job, since his other business was taking off.

Good news  I just found another Installer they quit sometime ago (I called them 2 months ago and they said they no longer do the installation) but due to demmand they reopen their door.. I spoke to them the other day and their price are reasonable at $50.00 an hour and takes
about 3 hours to do full bra. The company's name is PRO TOUCH they are located behind Cutter Ford in Aiea 91-8025 Hekaha St. 387-9134.
Too sad my car is not nearly completed yet still waiting from Central
Body.....
