Hawaii MINI Motoring Club Meet; 6/19 @ 11a; Pu`u Ualaka`a Pa
Roy - I'm glad that you and your family are okay. I've been in my share of accidents and cars can be replaced, people can't.
As for your car, there are 2 areas of concern that spring to mind.
1. Your airbag should have deployed as it does not matter if your car is moving or not. The airbag sensors are in your bumper and when it senses an impact, it will automatically deploy. Also, an airbag does not automatically deploy in case of a rollover.
This airbag non-deployment is a very interesting subject as there are many cases where the airbag did not deploy in the MINI. If you check the threads here and on MINI2, you will see this is not an isolated problem. I believe MINI-Pooper.com has a compliation of these threads. To me, I believe this is a safety hazard and think NHTSA should investigate the possibility of a recall.
2. Your car's value will go down as a result of the accident. Perhaps you can have your insurance agent work with the insurance company that is paying the claim to get an adjustment for lost value. In California, this is done all the time, but you have to ask. After all, Carfax is only a click away and this accident will show up on it's record!

Today is the day.
Hope to see you at the meeting today.
I have to work till about noon but I will be over ASAP.
You can listen for me.
No screeching, just the exhaust rumble.
I might bring a special treat for those who attend!
Zoom zoom.

It's raining...it's pouring
the_beastmaster is snoring (side note...beast is not old...his name just fit the song)
I'm gonna be there...perhaps with wet hair
otherwise it just will be boring
I'll be there rain or shine...just in case people show up. There is a small covered area that we can sit under...but I don't think it's the nicest place to be.
Of course I knew it was going to rain right after I busted out my wax/polish.
