Thanks for all your kind wishes-

Today I just got back from the hospital. Yesterday I had a ruptured vertebral disk repaired and stayed overnight. Now I have to rest for 2 or 3 months. No driving for about 2 weeks. I had the problem since March with pain everyday. At least now the sciatica pain is better, just the pain from the surgery.

Tonight I get to sleep in my own bed without someone checking my blood pressure every four hours! Only good thing was they also brought some pain killers so the trade was worth the wait. Sort of a long night-seems like forever and getting all that awful general anesthesia out of you takes a day. I had a cold going in so even worse for me.

Well no work for 2 months and no nothing for two weeks. I get to walk but only if my back tolerates it. I get to sit for 15 minutes. My wife sits by me with a stopwatch to check for (accuracy??).

Oh well. time to go.

Good to be back.

So far so good. I'm resting a bit more than I thought I'd need. I think I still am getting over the cold I had going into surgery and the general anesthesia has slowed me down more. Still coughing and my ribs hurt to breathe. Back pain isn't too bad with narcotic pain meds every four hours but I can't do much except lie down and sit or stand for short periods. No stitches no dressings. I'm just glued together back there. But no problems so far. The bottom of my left foot is still numb so that might be a permanent thing. Will be on low activity for another 10 days at least then start some easy physical therapy. Right now my MINI is closed up and covered for a sleep. I wonder when it might be time for a wake up call? Not yet, still feeling low energy and kinda out of it.

Had the same procedure many years ago. Follow instructions. Eventually they should give you execises to do - do them daily and you should be fine. If you don't watch out for more agony.
Cheers!

My baby is locked up in my garage held prisoner for two weeks.
My keys have a force field around them so I can look but not touch.
I don't get to go anywhere and have been in the car once to get home 6 days ago.
But I am doing a little better and fighting his chest cold off.
I get out for a walk once a day and do my limited exercises from my after back surgery sheet.
Just gotta heal up and not screw up the scar.

Minihune,
Aloha bradda,

Sorry to hear of your pain and glad to hear the surgery went well. I had that the same surgery a few years back. Rest up and you'll be back at it. The worst is over and you have lots of time to talk story...so let's hear some.

Peace...

Jeff
