recommended shops
hey hawaii mini owners...
i was wondering where do you go to get products and install them?
for instance, wheels and tires. i'm looking at the Kazera KZ-V 16 x 7 and Yokohama AVS ES-100 205/50-16 or 215/45-16. i'm thinking Eurosport right now. however, i've got some concerns with removing those run flats because of the difficulty in working with them. anyone had experience with eurosport? how about removing the run flats - is it a big hassle or is the mounting more of a hassle than the removal? also considering Goodyear because of their experience working with run flats, per tire rack recommended installers.
other mods i'm planning on doing are Madness rear swaybar, H-sport springs, and Helix exhaust. any place locally got 'em or willing to order 'em, possibly saving on s&h? if not, where should i order 'em from? then, where should i get 'em installed? again, i'm thinking Eurosport since they probably have a bit more experience with performance mods on bmw's and other european cars. if so, then maybe i can get all this installed at one time at one place, ie. eurosport, and possibly save on labor.
finally, how/will this affect the factory warranty? if go to mini of hawaii and they install it, that'll probably preserve the warranty. but then again, it'll cost quite a bit more, i think.
i'm open to suggestions and hearing your experiences.
thanks

Since you're looking at wheels and tires, just order them from TireRack and deliver them to your house. Then install when you have time.
You can do alot of the work yourself and save yourself a ton of money. Swaybar, springs and exhaust just takes time. If you allot a weekend for this, you should be done by Sunday afternoon. If you really pushed it and laid off the beer, it can be done in one day. If you have help, it will be even faster. It is just a pain to work under a car w/ a creeper. If you have access to a lift, go for it! Otherwise get a good set of jack stands.

Aloha, got my H-sport springs & madness rear swaybar from Randy at mini motorsports. Was going to install myself but just didn't want to crawl around on floor under car. Friend with WRX told me he used Sonic Motorsports and they were great- give Eric a call- they do good work and are reasonably priced (i've no connection with them at all)- On republican St off nimitz by the MacDonalds.
Had my springs & bar installed last week- waited around for few hrs- went smooth no problem - to me it was worth the $150. They have also installed a pulley, headers, etc on other MINIs.

My experience with eurosport is if you don't know any of the workers then you won't get good customer service. thats my experience. thats the reason I haven't bought anything from them.
I would call Volksgerman. I know they deal with Tirerack and can get the Kazeras. And I think he can ask around about the run flats. Good people over there. Eventhough they specialize in Audi/VW i'm sure they'll be happy to work on a Mini. They already installed springs on my friends DS/B S. They're waiting for me to come in but I haven't bought anything yet. I go to Volksgerman mostly to install things. I buy all my most of my things through the internet, group buys, classifies, etc...
Then there's Mini of Hawaii I hear they can order stuff like the Helix sways and of course they can install it. then again warrenty comes to play.
Another thing is Mini is still new and not that many owners have gone to shop to install aftermarket goodies. So a shop having experience working with minis is relatively zero. Just check around. Eurosport, Sonic's(Sonic Motorosports), Volksgerman, Mini of Hawaii. Also it's either this page or the next I posted about my friend able to order parts. check him out too...
well that's my $.02
