Child seat laws in Hawaii
Well two more days until our house hunting begins in HI. We'll be renting at the airport. Up to our last trip we have been taking at least a booster seat; however, we want to avoid doing it this year (since we want to maximize our suitcase count).
In CA it's something like 6 years old AND at least 60 pounds; however, from what I see, it seems HI is less stringent (something like 40 pounds?). If anyone knows, please let me know. My daughter is 6 years old but barely over 50 pounds.[LIST]

For Hawaii you should be fine for no extra child seat or booster required as far as laws go.
Child restraints are required only for age 3 and under, no weight limits.

Don't forget to call me if you have time. When do you arrive? 6/15- what time?

minhune & the_beastmaster,
Thanks. That information is like what I saw. Good news! Boosters are a pain in the okole to lug around. We bought a child seat belt adapter to keep the adult belt out of the head of the child.
I had a problem with my laptop and the recover my whole set-up so I lost all of my e-mails. I did write down minihune's number but I lost the_beastmaster's. I will not take my laptop with me, since my is taking hers (too much to carry).
Our house goes on the market tomorrow so we are busy getting things ready.

>>minhune & the_beastmaster,
Don't you wonder? Are we twins or something? Nope.

Yup, definite pain. Since my youngest is 12 and 70 pounds we are working on safely sitting in the right front passenger seat.

No problems with the numbers. I have his number and he has mine plus I can call your father and leave both with him.

That is what alarms and tasers and angry snarling dogs are for. today my MINI gets a Clifford 7000 alarm so that people cannot breathe on my baby without me knowing about it. I had no factory alarm and now an extensive list of add ons plus the moon is getting full.
