Today, I took my mini cooper into the dealership to have a small scratch from shipping fixed. One of the dealers just bought a Mini Cooper S (Red with white top, white racing stripes). I mentioned to him the idea about starting a mini cooper club, He is interested in forming a club. I have talked to several other people with mini's and they would like to see a club formed. As more locals start buying mini's there will be more interest in forming a club. Not sure how much interest there is among those who shipped mini's to Guam. Perhaps there is interest with some of them, just need to figure out a way to contact more people with mini's.Perhaps a flyer with info about NAM and the forums might be a start.

 

I thought about making "You were spotted!" cards... But without a club or group contact info, I never pursued it. I have a "Mini Cooper Team" sign I got from a trip to VIR... I had it on my lawn and an older gent dropped by saying he wanted to join because he had bought a Blue E56.

A little advertising will go a long way on this small island if a group was to form. There's also an R53 that auto-x's regularly.

 

Went down to Prestige Automobile in Tamuning today to check out the new shipment of mini's that came in. There are several R55's, R56's, a red R57. Meet one local lady who was picking up her white R56. Talked to her a little about mini's and mentioned starting up a club here on Guam. She seemed interested, gave her some contact info and told her about the NAM website and forums. Also talked to one of the salesmen, he is planning to buy a mini in the near future, he likes the idea of starting a club.

 

Well, I started working on a website this past week, and submitted an application to start a new club with NAM. Figured if there is a club, people will come. The website is http:/guamminimotoringclub.com.
