Transmission Error Code on new GP3
I was at the dealer looking over a GP3 with 1100 miles. I plugged in my OBD2 dongle and connected with BimmerLink.
These are the codes that I found that I could not clear. Is there any reason to be concerned?
No errors in iDrive. Seems like a software update at the Mini dealer may be needed based on some research I’ve done to potentially fix these codes.

The dealer plugged the car into ISTA and found no faults. Based on the GP3 group on Facebook, it seems like this is an issue with outdated software on the car.
I will be taking the car to a different dealership who will upgrade my istep software to the latest version for $205 and this issue should go away.

I’ve attached some pictures of the process and after. The new iDrive is a revamped version for 2022. Looks much more modern and a dramatic upgrade from the March 2020 version that came with the car.
The transmission is shifting MUCH better. It’s smoother in automatic mode and I think the shifts are slightly faster in manual.
You will want to specifically state that you want all 3 items updated since they are each separate procedures.
They were all updated to the latest March 2022 versions, which is the same as what the dealer would have at the moment. Keep in mind the dealer will likely not perform these updates unless you have a problem or error code. They didn’t want to perform an update for me even though I told them I was going to pay for it.

Sorry I should have been more clear. Add the $50 item to your cart then tell them you want DME and TCU updated as part of the upgrade. This is something that you need to tell them about manually as it isn’t listed specifically on their website. The additional charge for DME and TCU is the $50.

Got the update done yesterday. Initial impressions and feedback are similar to those who had it done via the FB group. Overall the car feels smoother in both manual and sport modes. Did not notice any pops or burbles tho. The i-Drive update was nice and overall operations was faster compared to the original version. Definitely worth the $229 and it took less than an hour to complete.

You’ll need to ask Bimmer-Remote.com to check for you… you need a laptop and obd2 to Ethernet cable.
