Talking GP3 with 8mm spacers

I just accidentally find a way to keep my stock suspension setting and improved the ride quality, torque steering, cornering speed.
Added 8mm spacers on all 4 corner to your be loved GP3. I ordered 5mm spacers last month with ECS Tuning, but they are back
ordered til coming August. So, I changed my order to 8mm size. To my crazy luck, all the major problem with GP3 are gone.....GONE.
No more killing back ride, no more torque steering (@ its minimal), and the best part, I can pull really hard on any turn. Our GP3 have
top notch suspension, dont waste them.

Go to 10mm on the fronts, you'll see way less understeer, and the front track will be more equal to the rear.

Rubbing

10mm may cause rubbing issue, 8mm feel safer. Upload pics later.

Looks good! Any idea if this magic will work for JCW R56?

This will work for people do not want to upgrade their suspension setting. But make sure to measure the inner gap to your outer tire to get the right spacer.
Just keep in mind that rubbing is not give you a better ride.

FWIW, there are plenty of people running even 15mm spacers on stock tires on the GP3 and they don’t rub.

I plan to try with the 8mm first and see how much it improves lateral stability and then possibly incrementally try with longer spacers..

After adding some fender flairs I added 12.5mm Spacers for my 18x8.5 et35 MOMO Wheels with Yoko A052 255/35/18s and it has completely improved everything.

I have the same setup on our F56 JCW, the GP3 is a different setup. The JCW handles much better than the GP3. I am going with the 8mm and see what that does before anything longer. At the speeds the GP is capable of achieving it is an entirely different beast than the JCW, and the stress levels on the wheel setup is a factor.

A052 or RE71S, hard to pick.

I use YOKO A052s for AutoX ... I got some YOKO Advan Apex V601s on my nm 17x7.5 wheels and they are great

My 8mm spacer kit should be here soon for my GP3. Curious how they'll fit with my 18x8.5" wheels

The package came this week and I put the spacers on yesterday. Funny thing, I was putting them on the rears (I had already don't the fronts) and I noticed one of the new bolts wasn't working very well. It felt like it was completely stripped while I was trying to get it in. Turns out, it was the wrong size bolt, both in length and diameter. I was resigned to just having 4 of 5 bolts in that particular wheel when I went back and double-checked the rest to make sure none of them were bad, too. Turns out, the bad bolt was just an extra. Instead of 20 bolts, I got sent 21...the one extra just mis-sized, lol!.

Anyway, everything is on and seem to be working correctly. Here's some pics of 8x8.5 et32 wheels, Federal RSPro 235x40x18 tires with 8mm spacers. With some groceries as a bonus . I haven't driven it enough to comment on any day-to-day improvements, and it'll be a month or so before I can really test it at the track, but...so far I'm good with it.

I have been debating about which size spacer to use and I think after seeing your pictures the 8mm are about right. Anything else would not look as good! I have checked with Bonos and I am going with them. They warned me about the fitment with the 8mm.

This is Wall from BONOSS , glad to receive your inquiry .

As we check , the Mini Cooper have 11~12mm hub height , if you put 8mm hubcentric spacer on it , the hubcentric lip will break . So if you would like to install 8mm , it will need to be non-hubcentric spacer , for hubcentric spacer we suggest 12mm .

The catch is that 8mm non hubcentric spacers leaver 3 mm of hub lip, not enough to center the wheel, as OEM wheels, are tapered the first 5mm.
I ran into that issue.

This leaves me with some real issues as I damaged an OEM Wheel and purchased a new one and had the old one repaired as a spare! With all that is going on with the GP3 I think I will leave well enough alone! I did install the JCW PRO exhaust which is wonderful and the car is still fun, but I like my F56JCW better which has given me 5 years of faithful service and no issues!

Thanks for the heads up!

Well, I found out the hard way that 255/35/18 Azenis RT660 tires on 18x8.5 wheels with 8mm spacers is not a good fit for the GP3 and a track, lol! The rear fender got bumped off 2x at one particularly gnarly curb The spacers have come off now and we'll see how just the tire size works on the track shortly.

Takes some trimming of the metal that shows...not a huge amount but I did front and rear and added flairs (Wider than the GPs) and added 12.5mm Spacers with no issues (I am running 2.2 degrees of camber front and 2 degrees rear). I would like to fit some 265/35/18 YOKO A052s Front but am not sure about clearance while turning. The setup as is works very good. I am on 18x8.5 et35 with 12.5mm Spacers all around...

Man, you put 255 on, you don't need any spacer at all, it stick out 30mm compare to stock size.

From 225 to 255 the tire moves 15mm out from each side...The 30Mm divided by 2,,,
You have to see where the tire sits near the struts so there is no contact,,,
As for Spacers, you use them to adjust the et(offset) of wider rims and/or tires...

is 30mm on each side, each wheel stick out 30mm, so total edge to edge is increase by 60mm. (assume the offset on rims is the same)

total from outside of one wheel to outside of other is 30mm, half of the 30mm in the increase from 225 to 255 is inside the car. You have only pushed out the tire by 15mm. (Assuming on the same wheels.)

30mm Borlas on each side using 17x8 (+40 offset) Motegi MR131's with Hoosier 245/45r17.... she only needs to make a straight line with a slight turn after the 1320 mark! Headlight blanks are in the making sooo...
